About this work
Calligraphic representation on the occasion of the founding of the Society for the Benefit of the General on 16 November 1784. At the top a portrait of the founder Jan Nieuwenhuyzen, on the right a medallion with Commerce represented by merchants at the Schreierstoren in Amsterdam, on the left a medallion with a printing press and at the bottom a representation of a General Assembly of the Society in the Old Lutheran Church in Amsterdam.
