About this work
A Dutch patriot is thrown into the air by Prussian soldiers in a blanket, causing coins to fly out of his pockets. In the top left, an English sailor forces the Frenchman to watch. Pastiche on an illustration of an episode from the adventures of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. Part of a group of four caricatures on the patriots during the Prussian invasion in October 1787. The original version with English inscriptions published in London. See also the pendant and the accompanying pair of caricatures.
