About this work
Willem George Frederik, Prince of Orange-Nassau, is wounded in a fight against the French at Wervik in West Flanders on 13 September 1793. In the center the prince with raised sword on horseback at the moment he is hit by a musket shot. Behind him are aides-de-camp Carel Bentinck and Tinne. In the foreground on the right the wounded prince Lodewijk of Waldeck is carried away. The print is accompanied by an explanation.
