About this work

The chaos of the Brussels fair, with various musical corps from the contest of 17 July 1827 returning to their places of origin in the foreground. To the right, two thieves are being taken away by gendarmes on a cart. In the background, a horse race on a track. To the left, Manneken Pis and a cart full of clowns pulled by two clowns. Below the image the legend 1-13 in French. Satire on the musical contest in Brussels, 17 July 1827.
