About this work

Satirical print on Goswin Joseph Augustin, Baron de Stassart, 1829. Stassart was formerly very liberal, but later, as a representative in the Second Chamber for the province of Namur, became strongly clerical in the debates on the Collegium Philosophicum and in 1829 vigorously supported the grievances presented by Belgium. Stassart standing at the border with the province of Namur, facing a group of clergymen. He is handed a bucket by a choirboy. At the bottom the legend A-D.
