The King meets a father and son while walking. The child refuses, at his father's request, to remove his hat for the King with the words 'Je ne salue pas un hérétique'. To the King's amusement. With a two-line caption. Part of the series of 24 plates with encounters with King William I, published under the title 'Les rencontres' in 1829-1830.
