New Year's greeting from the ash-cart men (cartman or dustman) of Amsterdam for the year 1846. View of the Dam in Amsterdam with the Zocher Exchange and the Commandant's House. Among the public the dustmen with their carts. At the bottom a poem in two columns. On behalf of Jan Farjon, the ash-cart man of district no. 19.
