About this work
On the body are two friezes; the upper one depicts a plea for mercy to a Roman emperor. Below number 30, the number 26 is still visible. Plate 30 from a series of 25 plates, numbered: II (formerly 26), 27-50. This series was preceded by the series Livre de Vases, consisting of 24 plates, in which the numbering began.
