Festive reception in Gorinchem of the Dutch soldiers who were taken prisoner during the siege and capture of the Citadel of Antwerp and held in captivity in Saint-Omer, 22–23 June 1833. View of the Exercitieveld near the Kanselpoort where a pillar with the inscription 'Ik Waak' (I Watch) has been erected. On the right, the returned Dutch soldiers are parading; in front of the pillar, the place commander of Gorinchem, Major-General Muller.
