About this work
Allegory on the accession to the throne of King William II, 1840. Centrally a portrait of the king in the royal mantle with the Grand Cross of the Military Order of William. Left and right within an ornamental frame eight depictions of important events from the life of William II from the years 1812-1840. At the top an allegorical depiction with a shield bearing the constitution of 1840, at the bottom the king's coat of arms. See also the pendant.
