About this work

Seven knights in armor and two heralds on foot. Leaf numbered I in the series of eighteen plates depicting the historical costumed procession representing the reception of Count William II of Holland in Utrecht in 1249. The procession was held by the students of the University of Utrecht on 2 June 1841 to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the restoration of the University.
