About this work

The death of King William II in Tilburg on 17 March 1849. The king dies sitting in a chair in a room, at his feet kneels his wife Anna Pavlovna. Behind her stands Prince Hendrik, to the right the adjutants Coehoorn and Merkes. To the left of the king the chamberlain Matthijs, the physician Everard. Further to the left the physicians Maes and Van Hees and the chamberlain Aerts.
