About this work
Allegory on Christian willingness to help the victims of the flood of March and April 1855. At the bottom, the land affected by the flood, with on the left the visit of King Willem III to the flooded area and on the right the visit of the king after the restoration. A pillar with the inscription 'Love' reaches to the heaven with two angels on the left and right. In the foreground, an open Bible and attributes of agriculture, shipping, etc.
