About this work
Commemorative plaque presented to pupils on the occasion of the laying of the foundation stone on 17 November 1863 by King William III for the National Monument in memory of the independence and the founding of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 1813. The names of the school, teacher and pupil are not filled in. At the top the portrait of King William II between flags, to the left King William I, to the right King William III. In the center at the bottom the return of the Prince of Orange to Scheveningen in 1813. On either side of this portraits of Kemper, Van Hogendorp, Van der Duyn van Maasdam and Van Limburg Stirum.
