About this work

Commemorative plaque for the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the restoration of the independence of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in November 1863. In connection with the celebration in Utrecht on 28 November. Centrally, a poem dedicated to the 'Utrechts Feestvierende Burgerij'. Around the cartouche with the poem, several scenes. At the bottom, the standing King William III, further four scenes of the arrival and stay of the Cossacks on the Maliebaan, in the Biltstraat and on the Janskerkhof in Utrecht in 1813. At the top, the Dutch Maiden.
