About this work

Satirical print with on the right the capture of Den Briel on 1 April 1572. On the left in the foreground, a group of men (politicians) from 1872 with flags bearing the inscriptions 'Intolerance' and 'Syllabus' are held back by the Dutch Maiden. Below the image four four-line verses.
