About this work
Satirical print on the Literary Congress held in 's-Hertogenbosch, where a gunpowder explosion had recently taken place. A woman tries to prevent her husband, a man of letters, from going to the congress. Plate published in the weekly De Nederlandsche Spectator, no. 6, 11 February 1860.
