About this work
Cartoon on the prize offered by the Nederlandsche Maatschappij tot Bescherming der Dieren to companies that bring animals to the slaughterhouses without cruelty. Two men pull a carriage driven by a monkey and containing animals smoking cigars. Plate published in the weekly De Nederlandsche Spectator, no. 42, 21 October 1865.
