Satirical print on the treaty between the Netherlands and Spain regarding freedom of religion. On the left, Philip II warns William of Orange about the growth of heresy in the Netherlands in 1572 (= Philip II accuses Prince William of Orange of leading the resistance, at Vlissingen upon his departure from the Netherlands in 1559); on the right, King William III and King Amadeus I of Spain with the signed treaty. Plate published in the weekly De Nederlandsche Spectator, no. 13, 1872.
