About this work
Portrait of Ferdinand III, half-length. He wears a richly decorated cloak and is crowned with a laurel wreath. He wears a chain with a pendant of the Order of the Golden Fleece. In his right hand he holds a scepter and his left hand rests on an orb. The portrait is set in an arched frame. In the margin a three-line inscription in Latin.
