About this work

The Judges Samson and Samuel. Samson holds the skin of a lion in one hand and the jawbone of a donkey in the other. In the background landscape, Samson is seen killing a lion with his bare hands and carrying the gates of Gaza above his head. Next to him stands the prophet Samuel. In the background, Samuel anoints Saul as king. Below the depiction, explanatory texts in Latin. Below the judges, references to the Biblical texts in Judges 14:1 and 1 Samuel 3:19.
