About this work
Proof print for a representation of a standard-bearer: a man with a large banner over his left shoulder, full-length, seen from the right. His head and the background are not yet printed; these parts are lightly sketched in pencil. Space is left blank at the bottom for an inscription. This print (at least its definitive state) is part of a series of 12 numbered prints of military figures, full-length against a landscape background depicting military actions, with a two-line Latin inscription.
