About this work

Sayyid Makhdum Sharza Khan is depicted to the waist, turned to the right, holding his sword over his shoulder with his right hand, and carrying a shield with his left hand. Sheet 45 of the 'Witsen Album', containing 49 Indian miniatures of princes. Above the portrait a piece of paper with the name in Persian. Below the portrait a piece of paper with the name in Portuguese.
