About this work

The second sleigh in the procession. A large sleigh with four musicians drawn by two horses and followed by two Romans with swords. Part of the series of fifteen drawings for the plates of the sleigh procession on 24 January 1776 organised by the Leiden society Veniam Pro Laude on the occasion of the Second Centenary of the Relief of Leiden (3 October 1574) and the Foundation of the University of Leiden (8 February 1575).
