Verse for Princess Wilhelmina on the fortieth birthday of Prince Willem V, 1788

Allegorical sheet with verses dedicated to Princess Wilhelmina of Prussia in honor of the 40th birthday of her husband Prince William V on 8 March 1788. Against the background of the interior of a classical temple, on the left is a statue of the war goddess Minerva, dressed in full armor, with the caption Amor Patraie (Love for the Fatherland). On the right is Justitia, with the caption Amor Dei (Love of God). She is recognizable by her attributes: a blindfold, a scale (both symbols of impartiality) and a laurel wreath (symbol of victory). In the center of the sheet is a heart-shaped cartouche made of woven branches, decorated with orange apples. The cartouche frames the coats of arms of the Seven United Provinces of the Republic, connected at the top with an orange ribbon. This ribbon is held together by Fame, recognizable by her angel wings and trumpet.
