About this work
Equestrian statue of the Prince of Orange, as victor and liberator of the Netherlands, following his heroic role in the Battle of Waterloo on 18 June 1815. The prince on horseback, with a drawn sword in his right hand, the face still unfinished. To the left, an Orange tree with fruit; an orange has fallen from the tree and lies before the pedestal of the statue.
