About this work

The Duke of Wellington receives from some Scottish soldiers the two standards with eagles captured from the French during the Battle of Waterloo (without flags), 18 June 1815. Centrally the Duke on a white horse, surrounded by his staff. In the foreground lie some fallen soldiers. See also the pendant.
