About this work

The festive meal held on 27 January 1786 in the Garnalen Doelen (Crossbow Doelen) in Amsterdam to celebrate the Alliance with France (concluded on 10 November 1785). Large company seated at a table decorated with still lifes, on the left in the foreground a bottle is being uncorked.
