About this work
Incorrectly considered a portrait of the poet Brederode. We recognize Bailly's face as he appears on a Leiden civic guard piece by Joris van Schooten from 1626. Bailly was a painter of portraits and still lifes. His drawn portraits date between 1621 and 1633.
