About this work
Hendriks painted and drew mainly landscapes and portraits. From 1786-1819 he was 'supervisor' of the art collections of Teylers Museum in Haarlem. The letter states that he intended to visit Van den Brink, but his 'thick rosy face' prevented this. He asks the addressee to come by him instead.
