A Dutch man with a long pipe in his mouth standing by the Dutch flag on Deshima, 1811. Kneeling on the ground is a Japanese man next to a jar of soy sauce. Part of the folder with 18 drawings reproduced in Johan Huizinga's 'Selection of memorable scenes from national histories' from 1950.
