About this work

Sketchbook consisting of 96 pages with castles, city views, and country houses, including Middelburg, Dordrecht, Hoorn, the Beemster, Edam, and Haarlem. The sketchbook was used in the nineteenth century as a cash book for a (house) painter and filled with amateur drawings, including one after the original study by Pronk in the sketchbook. On the back of the cover, a pencil drawing of a man looking over his left shoulder.
