The Great Mogul Akbar is depicted here in old age. He stands with his face in three-quarter profile to the right. His yellow jama is decorated with purple flowers and orange ribbons for the closure. In his left hand he holds a feather plume decorated with precious stones, which is worn on the turban. His turban is tied in an old-fashioned manner. He has, like all rulers and gods, a halo. The background is plain green. Around the scene a simple unadorned border in blue.
