About this work
A horseman on horseback has mortally struck a young roe deer that was drinking at a waterhole with two arrows; she collapses before the horse, bleeding from the arrow wounds in her flanks; in the background, two hares run off to the right; in the waterhole, two white geese are swimming (?); behind the ridge, the towers of a palace are visible. The representation is pasted on a piece of grey cardboard and framed by dark green strips of paper.
