About this work

On a long, narrow strip, the god Mahavira is depicted as an ascetic on the right; the left side contains text in Old Indian script in red and black, the top and bottom lines in smaller script. On verso, more text in the same manner; on both sides, a narrow unscripted column; a large red dot is placed in the center of the strip. Two-thirds text column on recto, one-third image; verso: text; broad red brush line along text and image, red dots in the center of the strip; also on verso, text and three dots.
