About this work

Blue peacock (cock), sitting on a wall. Numbered top right: 15. Marked with a red star top left. With three-line annotation in Dutch about a white peacock. Part of the first album of bird drawings. Third of twelve albums of drawings of animals, birds and plants known around 1600, made on commission of Emperor Rudolf II. With commentary in Dutch, Latin and French.
