About this work

Sheet with the nineteenth natural history ensemble of animals, numbers 1-40, partly with names in Latin. Fish, crustaceans (crabs and lobsters), some insects and birds. At the bottom an owl with spread wings. Numbered top right: 19. Part of the seventh album with drawings of reptiles, amphibians and natural history ensembles. The seventh of twelve albums with watercolours of animals, birds and plants known around 1600, made on commission of Emperor Rudolf II. With explanations in Dutch, Latin and French.
