About this work

Autumn crocus. Three loose flowers and a plant with bulb, leaves and bud. Numbered 167 in the upper right. Latin name next to the flowers. Part of the second album with drawings of flowers and plants. Ninth of twelve albums with drawings of animals, birds and plants known around 1600, made on commission of Emperor Rudolf II. With explanations in Dutch, Latin and French.
