About this work

Portrait of Sultan Ahmed III (1703-1730) with two followers, left the palace. Part of a series of paintings with Turkish subjects brought from Turkey to the Netherlands by the ambassador Cornelis Calkoen and bequeathed by his nephew Nicolaas in 1817 to the Directorate of the Levant Trade in Amsterdam.
