About this work

Triptych with the Lamentation of Christ. On the central panel the Lamentation of Christ. The body has just been taken down from the cross; Mary, John, Mary Magdalene, and others kneel around it. On the left wing a kneeling male donor, a praying monk, with a standing holy monk. On the right wing the kneeling female donor, a praying nun, accompanied by Saint Elizabeth. To the right a beggar.
