View of the Rapenburg in Leiden, three days after the explosion of the gunpowder ship on January 12, 1807. On the bridge in the foreground stand spectators and soldiers; some men carry a victim on a stretcher. On the right, stacked household goods. The location of the disaster was the Steenschuur, a canal extending from the Rapenburg.
