About this work

Crucifixion. Christ on the cross, on the left Mary swooning, John, Mary Magdalene, and the holy women; on the right Pilate and soldiers. Part of a large altarpiece from the former Augustinian Canons' Abbey of Rottenbuch. Three of the other panels are in the collection of the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen in Munich (exhibited in the Staatsgalerie Burghausen im Palas der Burg). Another panel is in the Musée Grobet-Labadié in Marseille, and four others are in private ownership.
