About this work
Beautiful Aal or 'The choice between young and old'. A simple young woman turns away from a rich old man and an elegant young man and chooses a boy who mockingly points to his competitors. The old man wears a fur cap and sits at a table counting coins, he holds a money bag open. The young man raises a wine glass in his left hand. Presumably four main characters from the play 'The Game of the Moor' by G.A. Bredero (from left to right): Kackerlack, Mooi Aal, Ritsert and Roemert.
