About this work
The kitchen maid. A kitchen maid holds up a piece of salmon in her left hand. On the table stands a bucket with straw, a dead duck, a pot, and a bunch of onions or turnips. The whole seen through a stone window, to the left in the corner two cabbages or heads of lettuce, to the right a ceramic colander.
