About this work
The Quack. On a village square, a quack stands on a platform under a large tree, showing the villagers the tooth (or stone) he has extracted from a man tied to a chair. At the man's feet stands a basket with eggs. On the table stand various bottles and jars and a document with a seal. To the right in the foreground, a woman pushes her drunk husband in a wheelbarrow. Far right, a violin hangs on a pole on which a monkey with a pipe sits.
