About this work

A peasant wedding is being celebrated in an inn. At a table, to the right, the bride is surrounded by men, and a tapestry hangs on the wall behind her. The groom sits to her left and drinks his glass dry. In the foreground, an old man dances to the music of musicians with a violin and cello. To the left, a standing man and woman watch. On the floor lie eggshells, bones, a plate, and a spoon.
