About this work
From Groningen, a military force with 'wicker bridges, leather, mookers, cowhorns, crowbars, hand grenades, and other storming equipment' marched towards Coevorden at the end of December. The fortress was recaptured in an hour, aided by fog and frozen moats. Some soldiers carry bundles of straw on their hats as identification during the assault.
