About this work
Thousands of people have flocked to see the final of a women's skating competition. Houkje Gerrits Bouma crosses the finish line first. Elated, she throws up her arms in triumph. A boy has even climbed a tree to follow the event. During the winter season, everyone went out on the ice, and women commonly participated in speed skating as well.
