Saint Alexis

Saint Alexis lies stretched out with his eyes directed upwards. He lies on a woven mat on which a beggar's staff and bowl lie. He is wrapped in a red cloth that leaves his shoulders and left arm uncovered. In his right hand he clutches a piece of paper. His other hand touches with a few fingers a wooden cross lying on the mat. In the air float two angels and next to them angel heads with wings. The saint seems to cast his (last) glance at the yellow light visible in the middle above. The architecture on the right side schematically indicates a staircase and refers to the space under the staircase where the saint according to legend resided.
