About this work

The card game on the cradle: an allegory. On either side of a cradle in which an adult man lies as an infant, two men play a card game. In the foreground, a young man holds up the ace of hearts; behind the cradle, a woman rocking the child, the other card player, and a man with a sword. In the lower left corner, a man with a mask crouches.
